🥗 Weight Watchers Points Calculator
Estimate SmartPoints® for any food instantly
This estimate follows the widely used SmartPoints® formula. For official points, always use the WW app.
📘 What Are Weight Watchers Points?
Weight Watchers (WW) points turn complex nutrition facts into a single, easy‑to‑track number. The current system, SmartPoints®, guides you toward foods higher in protein and lower in sugar and saturated fat. Each food gets a points value based on:
- Calories – energy content
- Saturated fat – less healthy fat
- Sugar – added and natural sugars
- Protein – helps keep you full (reduces points)
With your daily and weekly SmartPoints budget, you can enjoy any food as long as you stay within your limit – no food is off‑limits.
🧮 How Does This Calculator Work?
Our tool uses the commonly referenced SmartPoints® equation:
Points = (Calories ÷ 33) + (Saturated Fat ÷ 3.4) − (Protein ÷ 9.5) + (Sugar ÷ 8.4)
The result is rounded to the nearest whole number (minimum 0). Just enter the values from any nutrition label and hit “Calculate Points”.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is this calculator 100% accurate?
It matches the SmartPoints formula used in many third‑party trackers, but WW may adjust zero‑point foods and algorithms in the official app. Always double‑check with the WW app for the exact value.
Can I calculate points for alcohol?
Alcoholic beverages have a different formula that considers alcohol content. This tool is designed for solid foods and non‑alcoholic drinks only.
What if a food has zero points?
WW assigns zero points to many fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Even if the math gives a low number, these foods are often free on your plan.
Do I need to enter fiber or carbs?
The SmartPoints formula uses only calories, saturated fat, sugar, and protein. Fiber and total carbs are not directly used in this equation.
